| The True Pilates Difference These days, the word Pilates is thrown about everywhere with much ease, from health clubs to gyms, and it is easy to see why anyone could be confused about what the Pilates Method is really about. Not All Forms Of Pilates Are The Same. The popularity of Joseph Pilates' teachings has grown in recent years, and many fitness professionals are now offering pilates-inspired programs, or in some cases, combining what they call Pilates with exercises from other training systems. And while there are many different accredited schools of teaching Pilates out there, the vast majority of studios offer contemporary approaches that have distilled or modified Joseph’s original work over time. One Pilates Studio practices the true Pilates method. The philosophy and mission is to maintain the integrity of Joseph Pilates’ original work in its purest form, to teach others the way he would have taught them himself. The true Pilates method is different because it refers to the system of exercises that were originally developed and taught by Joseph Pilates, whose unique training regimen has proven itself for more than 80 years as a successful and safe method of exercise.
